Lip Blush

A soft, semi-permanent tint that enhances your natural lip colour and definition. From £295.

What is lip blush?

Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that deposits soft colour into the lips. It enhances your natural tone, improves definition along the lip border and creates the appearance of fuller, more balanced lips, without adding any volume at all.

The colour is chosen with you and designed to look like your lips on a good day rather than like makeup. A consultation is required beforehand, and most clients need a top-up session at around six to eight weeks to perfect the result. It is a different treatment from lip filler and the two do different jobs.

What to expect on the day

We agree the colour and shape with you first, then apply numbing. Pigment is worked into the lips in layers. Lips are sensitive, so expect to feel it even with numbing, and set aside a good part of the afternoon.

Lips will look considerably darker and feel swollen for the first few days, then dry and flake during the following week. The true colour appears at around four to six weeks. Do not pick at flaking skin, keep the lips balmed, and avoid sun and swimming while they heal.

Questions, answered honestly

Typically one to three years, fading gradually. How long depends on your skin, your lifestyle and how much sun exposure your lips get.

Darker and swollen for a few days, then dry and flaky for about a week. The colour looks too strong at first and softens considerably. True colour shows at four to six weeks.

Lip blush adds colour and definition. Filler adds volume. They do different jobs, and some clients have both, though never in the same appointment.

Lips are a sensitive area. Numbing is used throughout and most clients cope well, but it is less comfortable than most treatments we offer.

Usually yes. A top-up at six to eight weeks is standard and lets us perfect the colour and even out any patchy healing.

It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active cold sores, or with certain skin conditions affecting the lips. If you are prone to cold sores, tell us at consultation, as antiviral treatment beforehand is usually advised.
